Bryan Kohberger’s Parents & Sisters: Public Statement & Support

What is Credible / Verified

  1. Initial Statement by Parents and Sister
After Kosberger’s arrest, his family released a statement via his public defender, Jason LaBar: “First and foremost, we care deeply for the four families who have lost their precious children … We will continue to let the legal process unfold, and as a family, we will love and support our son and brother. We have fully cooperated with law enforcement agencies … promote his presumption of innocence rather than judge unknown facts and make erroneous assumptions.”
This shows that from early on, the family has publicly supported Bryan as their son/brother while also acknowledging the victims’ families and the seriousness of the case.
  2. Support & Love
In multiple statements, the parents (and by implication the sister) have made clear they stand by him — “love and support our son/brother” — while expressing sadness for the victims’ families.
  3. Cooperation with Authorities
The parents say they have “fully cooperated with law enforcement agencies” in seeking truth and not making unverified claims. That’s in the same initial statement.

Rumors, Allegations & Unverified Claims

  1. Rumor of Sister Giving a Tip to Investigators
    • There is no credible public record (court filing, law enforcement release, or major news outlet) confirming that his sister gave investigators a tip related to the case.
    • Some content creators or discussions online have suggested the possibility of such a tip — but as of now, no official documentation supports this. Clearly a rumour / unverified.
  2. Threats Against Family Members
    • There is at least one verified threat reported: Kaylee Goncalves’ mother, Kristi, received a threatening text during or around the sentencing hearing, reportedly from someone claiming to support Kohberger. The text included her address and references to “knowing a lot of serial killers.”
    • No reliable sources show threats specifically targeting Kohberger’s sister, or his parents, outside what the public has reported regarding harassment.
